Student and Filmmaker based in New York and New Orleans
I have been interested in filmmaking since around the age of 10, when I would carry around my dad's bulky video camera around at my neighborhood's annual block party and document the shenanigans of the other children in attendance. I never told them what to do; I would simply press the record button and capture the moments that they scootered down the hill, hopped on pogo sticks, and told lame jokes in an effort to elicit laughter from their peers. At the end of the afternoon, the other children would gather around me and we would all watch the unedited clips on the camera's tiny screen. Little did I know at the time that this would lead to something much bigger for me and my career aspirations.
Today I am a rising senior at Tulane University (class of May 2020) studying Digital Media Production and English, with a minor in psychology. The majors that I have pursued have allowed me to build upon my natural propensity for storytelling across different mediums. The DMP department at Tulane University is heavily focused on short narrative films and I have developed experience within pre-production, production, and post-production through coursework and internships along the way. During my time at Tulane, I have received two grants for my projects: A Newcomb College Institute HASTAC Scholars grant for a self-designed documentary, and a Newcomb-Tulane College Dean's Grant towards my short narrative senior capstone film. While filmmaking is my primary focus, I also have years of experience with creative writing and I have dabbled in both photography and graphic design in order to supplement my creative interests. With technology moving as quickly as it does, there is always something new to learn and I acknowledge the importance of learning both in and outside of the classroom.
I subscribe to the idea of the "growth mindset," which psychologist Carol Dweck defines as one in which "people believe that their most basic abilities can be developed through dedication and hard work." I truly believe that effort is a stronger indicator of success than natural talent alone, so I put a ton of my energy into everything that I am passionate about. With that said, I am also a strong supporter of mental health advocacy and believe in the importance of maintaining a healthy work/life balance. When I am not typing up a script or editing a scene, you can find me taking a stroll through Audubon Park, trying out new restaurants, bullet journaling, or just hanging out with my friends and family.

I am currently available for part-time/freelance work and if you provide a description of your project, I will give you an estimate of my services with 48 hours (typically much faster). You can reach me at firstname.lastname@example.org with any inquiries.
